Third Party Plan Review

CSG offers comprehensive, cost-effective third-party plan review services to our public agency clients on projects for which applicants may be seeking plan review turnaround times that cannot be readily accommodated by building department staff.

If you have been directed to this site by a public agency to utilize CSG’s third-party plan review services, please review the following submission guidelines for preparing your files prior to uploading.

Be sure to select the correct public agency at the bottom of this page to ensure your submittal conforms to their guidelines.

If you have any questions, please contact PlanReview@csgengr.com.

General File Submission Guidelines

  1. All submitted files must be in the PDF file format.

Your plans will be reviewed using PDF markup software. So only PDF files will be accepted. Most CAD applications have an export to PDF option, or there are free PDF virtual printer software programs that will allow you to print your file to a digital PDF file instead of paper.

  2. Check the orientation of your PDF.

Please ensure that your PDFs are rotated correctly to the correct orientation, so that the plan reviewers will be viewing your drawings and reading text from left to right, top to bottom. Typically, this means orienting your plans in landscape mode.

Your plans may be oriented in the wrong direction because you are using the same settings as you would plot your plans to a physical plotter or printer. Please make sure you rotate the plans in the correct orientation prior to submitting.

  3. Do not submit individual sheets or pages.
Please combine the sheets into a single PDF, structured by group.  For example:
    • Plans
    • Energy Calcs
    • Structural Calcs
    • Soils Report
    • Supporting Documentation
  4. Do not apply any PDF file security.
During the digital plan review process, your plans will be reviewed with and may be marked up with redlines as well as approval stamps (markups and annotations). Do not apply any file security to your PDFs.
